Wetland Delineation and Functional Assessment

CRI has advanced training and expertise in wetland delineation methodology, including identification of hydrophytic vegetation, hydric soils and evaluation of wetland hydrology. Many of the staff at CRI are Certified Wetland Delineators under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) certification program and have delineated thousands of wetlands throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

The staff at CRI has taken graduate level courses in Hydric and Hydromorphic Soils as well as Wetland and Watershed Hydrology. Our environmental scientists are often called in on difficult or controversial wetland delineations by other firms and the MD State Highway Administration to provide additional expertise in defining the wetland boundary. CRI staff members have also provided professional training in wetland identification to other professionals in the field.

Our staff also has considerable experience in evaluating wetlands for function and value using WET II, the New England Method, the New Hampshire Method and Evaluation of Planned Wetlands (EPW). We have GPS capabilities and regularly use GPS to locate and map wetland boundaries for use in planning studies and for jurisdictional determination by the USACE.
