Water Resources Engineer – Entry Level

We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Entry-Level Water Resources Engineer/Environmental Scientist (0-3 years).   The successful candidate will work closely with our diverse team of hydrologists, biologists, stream restoration designers, and engineers to perform field assessment, develop maps and plans for restoration designs, and perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for a variety of projects and clients. Responsibilities will include assisting with watershed assessments, geomorphic assessments, monitoring of existing stream/wetland/stormwater management (SWM) sites, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, analyzing drainage patterns, and GIS and CADD for the development of stream and wetland restoration plans, and SWM projects, and reports.

Candidates should have excellent problem solving and written/oral communication skills, be a self-starter with good attention to detail and organizational skills, and eager to collaborate closely with the other members of the team to meet project objectives.

Required Experience:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in civil or water resources engineering, or a related field
  • 0-3+ Years’ experience
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Coursework in hydrology, hydraulics, open channel flow, sediment transport, soils and/or geomorphology
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, and Excel
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Preferred Requirements:

  • E.I.T (Engineer-in-Training) certification or ability to obtain
  • Experience with ESRI’s ArcMap/ArcPro/ArcGIS Online
  • Experience in hydrologic data collection and topographic surveying,
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, TR-20, Rivermorph or GISHydro software
  • Experience working effectively both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Stream Restoration Short Course
