Highlights of Experience

Shannon is an Environmental Specialist who assists senior staff in conducting a variety of field studies and environmental assessments for the public and private sector. Shannon’s current responsibilities include assisting with wetland delineations, wetland and waterway permitting, electrofishing surveys, plant surveys, stream and watershed assessments, data management, data analysis, and report preparation. Highlights of Shannon’s experience include:

Field Studies

Assists senior scientists in performing a wide variety of field studies including:

  • conducts wetland delineations, forest stand delineations, tree surveys, and stream and watershed assessments
  • collects fish, water quality, and aquatic habitat data
  • performs data entry and analysis
  • uses GPS and GIS technologies to support technical field work and reporting, including preparation of resource mapping

Document Preparation

  • compiles and researches environmental data for technical reports, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments and Natural Environmental Inventories
  • assists in preparing technical reports for wetland delineations, forest stand delineations, and tree surveys.
  • utilizes GIS programs to support environmental assessments, inventories, and impact analyses
  • prepares permit documentation and position reports for MDE Wetland and Waterway Division Review Services
