The ARTBA Globe Awards Program annually recognizes private firms and public transportation agencies that do an outstanding job in protecting and/or enhancing the natural environment in the planning, design and construction of U.S. transportation infrastructure projects. The judges who select the award recipients carefully and thoroughly examine all aspects of the projects — particularly how the project mitigates impacts on, or enhances, the physical environment; mitigates impacts on, or enhances, aesthetic values; contributes to the overall well-being of communities; surpasses regulatory compliance requirements; and utilizes innovative and/or cost effective mitigation techniques.”
